  • Dance instruction, choreography and rehearsals prior to the show conducted by DFJ staff
  • Associated Costs: Administrative costs, ordering, shipping/handling, restocking fees, exchange fees, rush orders, non-returnables, and the 8.5% sales tax

Performing in more than 1 class with same costume-
$65 for first class, $25 for the second
Performing in more than 1 class with different costume- $65 for each class

Performance Fees will automatically be applied to all performing students’ accounts on March 1st and due with March tuition. An additional $5 late fee will apply if the fee is not paid by the 10th of March.

You must notify the Dancing for Joy office prior to March 1st if you do not wish your student to perform.  Performing is optional, but highly-highly encouraged. If we do not hear from you before this date, it will be assumed that your dancer IS performing in the Spring Show. Otherwise, performance fees are non-refundable except under rare and extenuating circumstances. If you decide that your child will not perform and you don’t notify us prior to March 1st, you will be able to get 25% of the performance fee returned to you if you do not want your costume. The 75%, that we keep is a restocking fee that covers the costs of shipping/handling in both directions, our office/admin time associated with the costume, the company’s restocking fees, and the simple fact that many costumes cannot be returned at all.  We do not offer a 25% refund after April 15th.

The Nativity Show is an optional performance opportunity for those who currently take dance classes at DFJ. You must continue to take dance, through the fall session, at DFJ to be eligible to perform.  Required rehearsals for this performance are outside of class time; Saturdays beginning in October.  Performance Fee for the Christmas Show is due at the audition & will be $65 for all ages. There are no other fees associated with this production. This fee includes all dance rehearsal times, a costume, and all associated costs. (This Fee is waived for Lead Roles). This fee is non-refundable; even if you choose, after given a role, not to participate in the Christmas Show or you happen to have access to the costume needed for your role.
