There is also a bathroom, water fountain and mirrors for touching up stage make up.
All other performers will remain in the Walton Room for the entire show. *Please note, this is different from the protocol for our Nativity Show. More information about arrival times and performer pick up and drop off will come out closer to the show.

Class Rehearsals:
Rehearsals happen during normal class times. Please be aware that there will be a required dress rehearsal for all students at the MBT. Dress rehearsals for those performing in the first show on Friday, June 17th will be the day before on Thursday June 16th. All other performers will have their dress rehearsals earlier in the day in which they perform.
Who performs when?
The following classes perform in ONE of the 4 shows:
Tiny Twirlers
Creative Movement
Hippity Hop
Pre-Classes
Level 1 and Level 2 classes
All other classes will perform in either 2 shows, or in all 4 shows (a few exceptions may apply). Specific shows will be assigned for the classes, and this information will be available late February/ early March. Please, let us know ASAP if your dancer has any conflicts (and the reason for the conflict) with performing on specific days. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but do not guarantee that we can fulfill each request.
IMPORTANT DETAILS REGARDING PERFORMANCE FEES:
*Performing in the show is an additional cost, and you will be charged a Performance Fee on February 1st.
What does the Performance Fee Cover?
1. A costume chosen by DFJ staff (that you get to keep), Props (if applicable)
2. Dress rehearsals outside of class time, prior to the show conducted by DFJ staff.
3. Associated Costs: Administrative costs, ordering, shipping/handling, restocking fees, exchange fees on orders, and non-returnables.
4. And the 8.8% sales tax on each costume
Fees:
Tiny Twirlers, Creative Movement, Hippity Hop, Pre-Classes, Level 1 & 2 classes - $60/class ($55.15 plus $4.85 sales tax)
All Other Classes - $84.99/class ($78.12 plus $6.87 sales tax)
Due to disturbances in the distribution chains, performance fees will be DUE February 1st this year (instead of March 1st), as we need to order costumes earlier to assure they will arrive on time.
How do I pay my fee(s)?
Performance fees will automatically be applied to all performing student's accounts by February 1st and will be due with February tuition. A $5 late fee will be applied if the fee is not paid by the 10th of February. PLEASE NOTE: Payment for performance fees will be processed to your card on file on February 1st.
Do I have to perform in the show?
Performing is optional, but highly encouraged! After February, a significant amount of class time is devoted to choreography. You must notify the Dancing for Joy office by January 20th if you do NOT want your student to perform. If we do not hear from you before this date, it will be assumed that your dancer IS performing in the Spring Show and their costume(s) will be ordered.
What do I do next?
- Let Dancing for Joy know by January 20th only if your student will NOT perform.
- Let Dancing for Joy know if your student has a specific performance conflict (date & reason).
If you wish to pay your performance fee(s) in a different way than your card on file, you must let us know BEFORE February 1st. Otherwise payment will be run with your tuition, using card on file, on February 1st.
What are the Covid protocols for the show?
As of March 14, 2022, MBT policy states- "Today, based on the significant downward trend of COVID-19 cases, and new Whatcom County, Washington State, and CDC guidance, Mount Baker Theatre is ending the requirement that patrons show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for most events. Wearing masks will be optional and encouraged. Free masks will still be available at our door, and many patrons will continue to wear a mask by choice."
